Melvita is created by Bernard Chevilliat, a beekeeper and biologist.
(Based on the Latin words ‘Mel’ for honey, and ‘Vita’ for life.).
Melvita draws up its "Charte Nature" guidelines. Launch of the first skincare range with honey: Apicosma.
The first Melvita store opens in France.
Melvita obtains the ECOCERT* ecological and organic certification.
Melvita opens its first store abroad. Since then, Melvita has opened over 50 stores throughout the world.
